How to take a baby’s passport photo at home
- Lay out a white sheet. On the floor or a bed — or cover a car seat with it.
- Shoot from above. Lay your baby on the sheet; take the photo from directly above with even light.
- Two adults. One keeps the baby calm, the other takes the photo with the rear camera.
- No hands in the frame. Keep hands, toys and dummies out, then check and download.
Several people? Family passport photos — up to 6 people, one payment.
Rules checked October 20, 2026 on each official page. Not affiliated with any government. Final acceptance is up to the issuing authority.

FAQ
Questions
Does my baby need eyes open?
United States: not always — “It is okay if a baby's eyes are not entirely open.”
United Kingdom: not always for babies under 1 — eyes may be closed
Canada: yes — no exception is published for babies
Australia: yes — no exception is published for babies
India (passport): not always for babies under 1 — eyes may be closed
Other documents (Schengen, China, Japan, India e-Visa): no special rules are published for children, so adult rules apply — eyes open. Rules checked October 20, 2026.
Can I hold my baby for the photo?
Your hands must not be visible. Lay your baby on a plain white sheet and shoot from above, or ask a second adult to take the photo. The tool asks you to confirm that no hands are in the photo.
What size is a baby passport photo?
The same size as an adult photo for the same document. Pick the document above — the tool uses its official size.
Does my photo get uploaded?
No. Photos are processed in your browser and never leave your device. We don't store them and we can't see them. We never store or use your photo after you close the tab.
